Managed Customer Revenue · Shopify + Klaviyo

The first purchase creates a customer. The relationship that follows builds a brand.

You invested in advertising, product and experience to earn that first choice.

The moment someone buys, the question changes: will you be one more brand they bought from once — or the brand they return to, trust, and recommend?

Optinize manages that relationship for Shopify brands through Shopify + Klaviyo — from understanding the customer to the message, the offer, the timing, the flows and the deliverability.

The goal isn’t to send more email.
The goal is to give customers more reasons to keep choosing you.

01 · Why this matters

In a market where almost every competitor can buy the same tools and the same traffic, the advantage that’s hard to copy is the relationship you’ve built with your customers.

They can open a Shopify store. Run Klaviyo. Advertise on Meta and Google. Work with the same influencers, run similar promotions, even sell similar products.

There’s one asset they can’t buy: the relationship you already have with your customers.

The people who already chose you, bought from you and experienced the brand are the most valuable asset the business owns. Strong brands treat them accordingly.

Same market. Same ad channels. Entirely different economics. Unit economics · illustrative
Brand A $100
First purchase$100
Repeat purchases$0
Value over time$100

Less room to compete for the next customer

Brand B $300
First purchase$100
Repeat purchases$200
Value over time$300

→ More economic room for acquisition

The more value and profit the customer relationship produces over time, the more the business can justify investing in acquiring new customers. What happens after the purchase becomes part of the acquisition engine itself.

A brand that wins the customer relationship competes for the next customer from a stronger position.

Illustration of the mechanism only. In practice, how much a business can invest in acquisition depends on its profitability and unit economics — not on revenue alone.

02 · Where the problem starts

With the approach.

At many brands, retention amounts to a weekly newsletter, a few flows, and a promotion whenever sales need a push.

Email has become an activity to manage, instead of an instrument for managing the customer relationship.

When the approach starts there, the business circles back to the same questions month after month.

When you manage sends
When you manage customers
What are we sending this week?
Where is the opportunity right now?
Who can we send to?
Who has a real reason to hear from us now?
Which promotion should we run?
Who might buy without a discount?
What’s the open rate?
What did the customer do after the message?
How much revenue was attributed to the campaign?
What actually created value and profit?
What’s the next campaign?
What did we learn that changes the next decision?

Same Shopify. Same Klaviyo. Same customers.

The difference isn’t how many emails go out. It’s what you try to understand before they do.

That is the gap between managing a mailing list and managing a relationship with your customer base.

03 · The mechanism

Everything changes when you stop seeing a list and start seeing people.

A mailing list tells you who you’re allowed to email.

We want to know who we’re talking to.

Behind every Klaviyo profile is a person with their own history with your brand: what they bought, when, how often, what they respond to, and where they are in the relationship right now.

That changes the next decision.

01 · Understand

Understand

The system we built connects Shopify and Klaviyo data and analyzes the customer base at the level of the individual customer.

AI helps us work through thousands of customers — spotting patterns, shifts and opportunities no one could find by hand at that scale.

The system helps us see. The decisions stay human.

02 · Decide

Decide

Who should hear from us now, about what, when, and with which offer.

Sometimes the best decision is not to send at all.

03 · Execute

Execute

The decision becomes a campaign, a flow, an audience, copy, creative, the Klaviyo build, QA, deliverability and the send.

04 · Learn

Learn

After the send, the results feed back into the same system. What worked, what didn’t, and what it changes next time.

Every cycle starts with more customer knowledge than the one before it.

04 · What it looks like when the channel works

In the end, all of this thinking has to show up in one place: the results.

Campaigns and flows shouldn’t just be marketing activity on a calendar.

When the channel works, they become the moments where the customer relationship produces purchases, revenue, and information that makes the next decision better.

You don’t have to trust a chart we made. You can look at the system itself.

Real campaigns from a live account. Sales figures as attributed inside Klaviyo.

The periods, audiences and products differ — this is not before/after data, and not a promise of similar results.

It’s simply a look at what happens when email stops being a chore and starts working as a revenue channel.

05 · Our edge is taking responsibility

Not for a campaign. Not for a flow. For everything that happens between the customer and the brand after the purchase.

One owner · full channel
Optinize holds the full picture
Customer data Segmentation Campaigns Flows Creative Deliverability QA + Send Learning

Optinize holds the full picture: what’s happening in the customer base, where the next opportunity sits, what’s right to do now, and what we’ve learned from what we’ve already done.

You don’t have to connect the data, the campaigns, the flows, the creative, the deliverability and the results.

That’s our responsibility.

We come to you when something needs a decision only you can make: product, inventory, price, brand boundaries, or a commercial call.

Everything else should keep moving without you having to manage it.

Fewer things to hold in your head. One owner accountable for the channel moving forward.

We come back to you only when a decision belongs to the business alone.

06 · You’re in good hands

Experience built inside real systems.

Optinize has operated since 2016, on more than 15 years of hands-on work across email, ecommerce, automation and deliverability.

15+ years of hands-on experience
200+ ecommerce stores across previous roles, systems and projects
3B+ sends across the systems and infrastructure where that experience was built

That experience was built where it actually counts: in live accounts, complex systems, and decisions that don’t come with a ready-made answer.

07 · How we start

The first month isn’t for waiting on results. It’s for building what comes next.

Month 1 · Understand

Month 1 · Understand

Our system analyzes the customers, the activity, the campaigns, the flows, the deliverability and the data already in the account — and surfaces patterns, gaps and opportunities.

In parallel · Build

In parallel · Build the next month

From what we learn, we actually build next month’s activity: audiences, priorities, campaigns, flows, messages, offers, copy, creative, and the Klaviyo builds.

Anything urgent and unambiguous — a deliverability problem, an existing fault — can be fixed during Month 1 rather than waiting.

Month 2 · Launch + Learn

Month 2 · Launch

The new activity goes live, we measure and learn from the results — and we’re already building the next cycle.

At the end of Month 1 you don’t get a promise about future work. You can see the next month already built — and the reasoning behind every decision.

08 · Not every brand needs Optinize

The service is built for brands that have already done the hard part.

There’s a product people want, there are customers, there’s activity, and there’s a base to build on.

✓ It’s a good fit when:
You have a meaningful customer baseEnough people have already chosen the brand that there’s something to learn from, detect and improve.
There’s a real reason to buy againThe product, the category or the relationship with the brand supports repeat purchases over time.
Shopify + Klaviyo are already part of the businessOr you’re ready to adopt Klaviyo as part of the stack.
You want to build a channel, not just send campaignsAnd you’re willing to look at customers, profitability and the relationship over time.
× It’s probably not a fit when:
The product is almost always bought exactly once.
There isn’t yet a customer base large enough to learn from.
The core problem is that demand for the product isn’t there in the first place.
Or what you mainly want is someone to send the next newsletter.

We would rather say “not yet” to the wrong account than take on a client we can’t create enough value for.

09 · The commercial model

One service. One owner. One price.

We don’t count campaigns, flows or hours. You hand us responsibility for the channel.

The aim isn’t to talk you into staying. It’s to do work that makes you want to.

11 · Questions worth asking before you start
Is this an email-marketing agency?+

Not in the usual sense.

An agency typically takes responsibility for execution: campaigns, flows, copy, design.

Optinize takes responsibility for the question that comes before all of that: what is the right thing to do with the customer base now — and then executes the answer.

We already have someone running Klaviyo. What happens to them?+

You don’t have to replace something that works.

If you have a team, a CRM manager or another stakeholder who should stay involved, we define who owns what and work together.

The point is to add ownership and clarity — not another layer of management.

Do you guarantee revenue growth?+

No.

Product, price, inventory, seasonality and demand all shape the outcome, so promising a revenue number up front wouldn’t be serious.

What we do commit to is how the channel is run: understanding the customers, finding opportunities, making decisions, executing, and learning from the results.

And in the first 30 days, if you don’t want to continue — you get a full refund.

Why not simply send more campaigns?+

Because more communication doesn’t automatically make the relationship better.

Sometimes the right move is to send. Sometimes it’s to change the timing, the audience, the product or the offer. And sometimes it’s not to reach out at all.

The goal isn’t a full calendar. It’s being relevant when there’s a good reason to talk.

What happens if we stop working together?+

Your Shopify and Klaviyo stay yours.

Your data stays yours.

Everything already live in the account stays yours.

There’s no walled system you have to keep paying for to keep the finished work running.

Why Shopify + Klaviyo only?+

Because a good managed service demands depth, not just breadth.

For now we’ve chosen one stack we can know deeply, connect to our system, and run consistently.

We’d rather be excellent on one stack than “support” ten.

The first purchase can be bought. The next choice has to be earned.

Optinize was built to manage what happens in between.
